Since the Japanese colonial period, the whistle sounded on Mt Alishan in a melodious and classical song. In the early years the steam train carried large quantities of fine quality wood for the Japanese, who erected the sacred Torii, and evolved into the human protection. Today, the small steam train has become a favorite tourist attraction. The whistle blows, as the climbing engine climbs the rising hillside, blooming flowers and green grass on both sides brush dust from the eyes, before then train slowly enters the home of holy trees. On the way, sitting in a classic carriage, one may be surprised by the history which is as long as the track, repeatedly sounding memories of the different generations.
